Theatre Smash

THANK YOU FROM THEATRE SMASH

As Canada Day and the summer months draw near we wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for your incredible support of Theatre Smash this season.

Thanks to you, our artists, donors, government partners, and sponsors, audience members, board and many volunteers, we were this season able to mount our most ambitious project yet: the world premiere of Graeme Gillis’ A Boy Called Newfoundland

“A gentle, quirky, highly original play by Graeme Gillis… I’d go see his next play in a minute” – Toronto Star

“Graeme Gillis has created a Royal Tenenbaums-esque domestic drama with real heartache and sorrow” – EYE Weekly

“Theatre Smash’s most ambitious and most successful show to date… you’re in for a real treat” – Torontoist

“Anyone who’s felt the pain of being a fifteen-year-old or who’s felt powerless to stop their changing world will relate” – Mooney on Theatre

In the weeks since Newfoundland closed, Sarah and Ashlie have been hard at work on many creative endeavours, including the fourth Luminato Festival (where Sarah is Marketing Communications Manager), Idomeneo at the COC (which Ashlie assistant directed) and Short Story Long for the Toronto Fringe Festival (which Ashlie is directing). We are also hard at work dreaming up Theatre Smash’s next season and can’t wait to share these details with you this fall.

Please stay in touch on Twitter, Facebook, and our website – and remember that donation renewals for 2010 are much appreciated by clicking on the link at the right side of this page.

Have a wonderful summer!

Sarah and Ashlie
