Michael Walton - Photography
Michael works as both a Lighting Designer and part time Photographer and has worked professionally in theatre for 10 years. Originally from Winnipeg Michael left the snowy wasteland for smoggier pastures and is quite enjoying life in Toronto. Currently Michael is working for the Canadian Opera Company’s production of Wagner’s Ring Cycle at the new Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. This past season he was the Assistant Special Effects Designer on the World Premiere of Lord of the Rings and has also recently finished his 3rd season with the Stratford Festival of Canada.
Recent design credits include: Whistle Me Home (prevaticantoot Productions, Summerworks), Dracula (Magnus); The Goat Or, Who is Sylvia, The Last Five Years (MTC); Over the River and Through the Woods (Grand); The Drawer Boy, Animal Magnetism (Georgian Theatre Festival), Hay Fever (Theatre Calgary), Perfect Pie (GCTC). Upcoming projects include: Generous (Tarragon), Oliver!, This is How it Goes (Neptune), Moonlight and Magnolias (Grand).
As a photographer, Michael shoots headshots for performers, weddings and other special events.
